Was slavery also wrong even when it was legal?

This goes to the morality of slavery, not the legality.

You seem to be taking a moral position that slavery is wrong, and I am wondering if the same moral position you have stated above that slavery is wrong would have applied to the legal institution slavery in America 200 years ago.
