Southwest gains approval for Hawaii flights from Bay Area

The Federal Aviation Administration said Wednesday it has granted Southwest Airlines approval to begin flights to Hawaii from San Jose and Oakland, capping the airline’s effort to extend its reach across the Pacific. The Dallas-based airline’s chief operating officer, Mike Van de Ven, said Southwest will announce timing for selling tickets and beginning flights in the coming days. (CBS)

Southwest Flights From California To Hawaii Now On Sale

Southwest Airlines is now selling flights from California to Hawaii. The Dallas-based airline will start flights from Oakland to Honolulu on March 17, then Oakland to Maui on April 7. Flights from San Jose to Honolulu will start May 5, and San Jose to Kahului on May 26. Southwest says it will start offering flights from Sacramento and San Diego in the coming weeks. (CBS Denver)
