There are ZERO edible burgers in the entire Eastern seaboard, nada... so please, give it a rest. LA? Worse still... completely inedible if you exclude I/O. I've eaten better dog.

Steak and Shake and Old Homestead I guess. Actually, there are several steakhouses in NYC that sell Kobe burgers in the $50+ range. In fact, I think NYC was where the idea started.
 
Close to NYC, in Jersey City. FatBurger. Juicy burgers, hot fluffy fries and shakes with mmmmm, ice cream.

I should have tried InNOut when I was in Vegas and LA last year.

north of philly there is a little town on the delaware river called new hope. there is a biker bar named havanas which has the most killer burgers in all of philadelphia. kansas city prime beef. the works.

Yes. FatBurger is trying to expand into the NorthEast. This is their first, I believe.

For anyone who's willing to spice things up a bit and go for a really good burger in a hardcore gay setting, try Hamburger Mary's in San Francisco or Las Vegas.
You'll love the way those gay cooks massage the patties to create those really yummy burgers. Bon Appetit.
