Lots of monitors just to show off?

Dang...I didn't think anyone looked at these images that closely given the quality...

Anyway, you probably can't see it because of the poor quality of the image (filesize restrictions). It's the tradestation orderbar probably barely visible on the lower left screen (at the top of that screen). Most times I don't use it unless I'm playing a breakout or a symbol that I don't commonly trade. The keypad on the right hand side of the desk is usually used to enter pre-programed orders for the ES that are relative to current price. There is also a Tradestation automated strategy being run in the background of the lower left screen that sends orders to TS. There is another one running on the upper right hand screen sending orders to the IB network via a product called Tradebolt (a product also not seen in the image).

Quote from RAMOUTAR:

I use ONE monitor. It may just be habit, and like many ETrs here, I started trading actively well before the days of multi-monitor setups. I personally find those setups very distracting. Why? One simple reason..."The more you look at, the less you see." I use every window on my screen to enter, manage and close positions. Frankly, the way I feel is, if a window is going to flash, make a noise and divert my attention, it better be a damn good reason. If a window or program distracts me and does not contribute to my trading, I eliminate it. I don't need to have the charts expanded during the day, since I already have a vivid print of them in my memory. All of my scanning is done before hand.

Try this...make a list of all the windows you need to trade. Then try and fit all of those windows on one screen. This exercise mya help you increase your focus. Give it a shot.

Good idea.

it boils down to personal taste. some of us enjoy driving a ferrari, others are happy in a mazda. they both serve the same purpose and will get you to your destination. it just depends how you want to go thru life....

best,

Well, 1 - one - Ferrari is OK for me.

Multiple replies to people who haven't posted in 2 years doesn't really make much sense, imo.

Only 1-2, maybe 3 years old? And so what? I have trading books which are 50 and 130 years old. They are a lot better than the new ones. I like to read the "old" threads, and I think this is a great one. Why should new members not read it? And I hope some of the oldies will enjoy what they wrote before...
