That number is going to continue to drop as more companies get rid of pension plans and replace them with 401k, I know people a few years from retiring and a few who are retired and they are and will collect huge pensions, I know one person who milked the system the last few years of his career by doing insane amounts of overtime, from what I have heard his pension is over $80k a year....thats why today states can no longer afford to pay pensions, the system is broken and nothing is going to fix it anytime soon.
