Losing money consistently

Learning to take the emotion out of trading is a big necessity. It’s very hard to do but I agree it’s absolutely essential to trading well. All too often guys take winning systems and screw them up because they get emotional.

I'm losing money consistently. 11 losing trades in a row. Why is it so easy to lose money consistently but not make it?

Just send your trade ideas to me. I'll do the opposite and you can just pay me half of what you would have lost, therefore saving 50%.

Yes. The trend is my edge. I need to set TP. I sure made some nice gain by not have TP in the beginning, but it's not working anymore and I lost all of my 14% gain since starting in march. I think it is true that the bigger your TP compared to your SL the bigger your losing rate. I have to look at my trade history and see how I would of done with a RR of 1:1, etc...

What are you trading in which timeframe?

Your edge begins with the knowledge you gain through your research and testing that a particular market behavior offers a level of predictability that provides a consistently profitable outcome over time. Without it, one is just "playing" the market in order to have something to talk about on message boards...

I am curious as to why a trader would spend his time on message boards - racking up nearly 10 000 posts - if he was profitable. There are other and better ways to spend one's time.

The post you had earlier about 3 losses in a row being unacceptable... I would suggest for most beginning traders, reading things people like you post on these boards makes them worse off, not better.

Following are the reasons most new traders loose.

1. Lack of experience
2. Unreasonable expectations
3. Absence of a sound trading plan
4. Getting greedy
5. Ignoring the rate spread fluctuations and the impact spreads have on profitability
6. Holding losing positions too long
7. Too many open trades
8. Excessive leverage
9. Lack of discipline

I am sure you fall in to one or more of the above categories. Be patient and study well before you proceed
