Lord Stern: 'People should give up eating meat to halt climate change'

I've been idly wondering, is there enough carbon, greenhouse gases trapped in vegetation, being released from ruminant digestive tracts, and in the world's permafrost, and so on and so forth, that if it were all eventually freed, could trigger a runaway greenhouse effect like that on venus? That's what I'd like to know, because until I hear differently that to me is the worst case scenario. I mean, we know it's possible on that world, is it possible here? Where does it start feedback, 60 C, 100 C, 200 C? Or, can't happen here?
