"Politicized Mortgages"... sums it up in 2 words.
ALL of these evils stem from that one fact. Yes, lots of people and groups jumped on and added their abuse, but NONE OF IT WOULD HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE WITHOUT THE POLITICAL GREED OF CONGRESS MANDATING ABROGATION OF PRUDENT LENDING PARAMETERS!
In other words, POLITICAL GREED got us into this mess...
