Loonie ... the infamous USD/CAD

TRADEVIPER

You are correct I can possibly negotiate with another broker. But the Introducing Broker I hooked up with gave me free office space (on Wall Street) :D and resources to use (Bloomberg terminal etc) :D

The only other thing I have to do is give seminars once in a while.

its a pretty sweet deal

I am starting a Thread about the LOONEY (I dont know how to spell it)

I am thinking of posting my ideas and posting my live trades and postng my trade ideas

I hope that readers of this Thread will also chip in their thoughts and ideas as well:D

There's an existing, substantial CAD thread in this forum.

Forex, like most endeavors, rewards thoroughness and intrepidity. Take that as a prompt: you might find one or more posts in that existing CAD thread to be of value. From the looks of it, one or more posters in that thread did.

(3) PNB Paribas still thinks its a good play to buy dips in the CAD/USD based on interest rate valuation

Are you out of your mind?
Who gives a blue f*ck what they think?

One of the best traders I know trades for BNP Paribas and I am pretty sure he uses BNP's research and analysis department

anyway BNP Paribas recommendation was real long term (probably yearly)

Feb 27 2006 ...

Repositioned myself for long USD/CAD
open price avg 1.1586 (3 lots)

looking for a range play

out limits at 1.1625

looks like there was resistance for EUR near 1.32 ... thats what I am playing off currently

go dollar

Feb 27, 2006

Wow probably the only currency pair today to feel the wrath of the dollar :D

settled all my longs at avg 1.1653

not sure if I am going to short because the USDCAD is acting loonie

I will just take my pips

maybe this happeend because metal commodities are taking a hit and Canada is a net exporter of commodities? The only real commodity that isnt taking a hit is oil. This is probably why USDCAD spiked to 1.1664 and came in real quick

looking to reposition tonight with the current dollar for tomorrows GDP

USDCAD short not looking good ...

I am not short myself yet

maybe if it breaks 1.1700 I will try to take some shorts around 1.1720

we will see how the commodities trade and how the US stock markets do because thats the big issue for this week it seems

Gold and metals prices are selling off and of course Canada is a net exporter of minerals, ore, oil.

However, if the DOW starts selling off i might try to short earlier

hopefully more to come
