It proves that he's a good salesman and/or has good contacts. He is obviously a poor trader judging from the blowup record. Deja vu as I've said it before, great traders never blow up.

Well, not quite. Many of the greatest traders in history have blown up one or more times, see the market wizards books for examples. You also have jesse livermore blowing up a few times, even soros blew up his own personal acct at one point, tudor jones lost 70% of his managed accounts on one trade etc.
I basically agree with you but with a caveat. Part of being a great trader is acquiring the ability to come back after a blow up. Livermore, and others, were able to find backing even when the could barely pay their rent. To get there you have to operate in real scale and have a real rep.
The big, well known trader is not necessarily without capital just because he is without money. The ability to refinance is something he has earned and therefore can cash in. Again, this only works for big, prominent players. And of course never blowing up is far prefered.

No, many of these girls are not paid hookers or anything like that. They get off on the perceived power-- it's a huge aphrodisiac even if not even real. --- it's completely different than paid sex or whatever you are referencing.
Well, VN has his demons --- however the value of his ideas is shown in the dozen or more too money managers who attribute their success to his tutelage. That is real value despite his allowing his competitive nature blow up funds.
1982 to 1996 -- 30% per year compounded is one hell of a track record. Perhaps the best verified record of all time for a hedge fund manager.
How do you know that Soros doesn't have or had $ with VN? I certainly have no idea but you seem to have this inside knowledge.
