Donald Trump’s world is quickly shrinking. It has been less than a week since Michael Cohen reached a plea deal with Robert Mueller’s Special Counsel, and now, David Pecker, chairman of AMI, is allegedly fully cooperating with federal prosecutors.
AMI is responsible for the publication of National Enquirer, Star, Globe, and others. It is also the company that helped Trump and Cohen bury the Stormy Daniels story following a $130,000 payment made to the adult actress.
The Last Word’s Lawrence O’Donnell explained the situation:
“And we have more breaking news now. This from The Wall Street Journal confirming a question just raised before we went to this commercial break. The Wall Street Journal is reporting tonight that David Pecker, the Chairman of American Media Incorporated, which publishes the National Enquirer, provided prosecutors with details Mr. Cohen arranged with women who alleged sexual encounters with President Trump, including Mr. Trump’s knowledge of the deals.”
Unlike Cohen, Pecker may be able to provide direct proof of wrongdoing, including proof of payment to Stormy Daniels and potentially, other women.

Listen, I know what your position is. We must wait for all the evidence to be collected and then presented for all to see. I get that, and agree that at the end of the day everything else is pure speculation, speculation by both sides of this political game.
The burden, as stated by others, is on those doing the accusing. We all know that. Those defending the accused will demand to see the evidence. We all know that too. All I'm really pointing out in this thread and others, ad nauseam, is that this investigation has been going on for months and months. We can agree on that, right. Washington D.C. is full of leaks and leakers. We can agree on that, right. Too date, as of this day right here, right now, all I'm seeing is a whole lot of speculation and unsubstantiated accusations and many of those making said accusations have, shall we say, less than a credible history of truth telling and have heavily biased opinions.
If there was anything of substance, do you not think in an atmosphere riddled with leaks, there would be something of substance which would be leaked by now? Does it not disturb you at all that we have strayed far off the original charge of collusion, and now debate alleged crimes of a much lesser offense, but are spoken of as if they are high crimes?
IMO, based on what we've seen this past many months, there is no real crime here, but much that can do damage politically, and again, IMO, that was the goal to begin with. It's a fucking game that they all play, and they play it without regard of what damage it does to the country at large, or how much collateral damage is left in the wake.

Trump has been leaking like a sieve, he is the leak half the time. He surrounded himself with you know 'the best' people.
Mueller has not said a public word for over a year. The information you are seeking can only come from his side and they are keeping their mouth shut in a professional manner.
Trump supporters... when things look bad they always fall back to it is ok because both sides are equally bad. It is the lowest effort salve for their emotions.
That is not the case here regarding leaks. You are also like others trapped in a fantasy that the Muller investigations is about nailing Trump personally for collusion. You have seen Trump operating to a script saying 'collusion' as many times as he possible can.

To create a straw man, if his personal Russian collusion is not proved by Muller then Muller's people have utterly failed. Everyone they charged along the way were victims of a failed strategy to persecute Trump.
He has programmed you to think the way he wants you to. Mueller was charged with investigating Russian interference. This may include colluders as found however there is a lot more going on. Trump has you in his hypnotic misdirection.

If I accused you of murder and after two years of investigating all I had to show was that a few years ago you dated a hooker and a couple of your friends had unpaid parking tickets, yeah, I'd call that a failure to be making the case for my original charge.

The prosecution building a case does not broadcast the case they are building. Investigators don't either unless they are a corrupt one like the Republicans run (Benghazi etc.) purely to damage reputation for political gain, not actually caring about a conviction as the smear is what they want. However the House and Mueller are different groups.
They have to share their evidence with the defense however there is no defense (should they choose to leak) until there is a charge so no tasty little gossip for the Captain.

He was tried on 6 counts I recall, acquitted on one and the jury deadlocked on the remaining 5.
I don't see any issue with the law, it was detected, investigated, charged and tried. Whatever went wrong I would imagine was prosecution or jury. There are essentially only two charges here.
