I see now that Cohen could cause a problem if he believed that he was not going to get reimbursed by Trump and that he therefore made an unreported or over the limit campaign contribution.
At the same time if Trump thought he was going to reimburse Cohen with his own money, then it is possible Cohen would be guilty and Trump would not be of a violation of Campaign finance laws.

I did read it. Very entertaining book. I enjoy good sci-fi. Personally, I don't believe that time is linear, but is perceived as such. Among other things it covers how humans perceive events in linear time.
I know you want to see things before that can happen according to the known rules of the universe, however, I think reading that book would help you understand why it cannot be.
