Looks like the GOP Senate races are not going well

You would think that GOP Senate candidates could come up with better talking points about the economy than this. But you would be wrong.

Fetterman wont debate Oz....He better be careful....If independents break 3-5% right it will wipe out even Pennsylvanian for the Democrats

It's a ranked choice ballot system.

Round one determines if anyone got more than 50% - if no (as was the case) then,

they eliminate the lowest of the candidates (and all write-ins unless they got a half a per cent or something like that) then they take the second choices for the people who voted for the one eliminated (Nick Begich in this instance) and add those votes to the remaining candidates (Palin and Peltola) to see if that pushes either one over the 50% mark, which it did for Peltola.

The system allows for going to third and fourth choices too if needed.

Alaska does not have a party primary system now. It's the top four candidates who get the most votes in the primary. Could be a mix of parties or all the same party. However the votes come in.

It gets complicated but on the other hand it eliminates having to hold a run-off if no one gets a majority. Just crank the computer and see what people's second choices were if their first choice was eliminated. You still can't do it all on one election night though because you have to wait for the mail in and write-ins to come in. The first round was August 16 and here we are today just finalizing it.
