Looks like North Carolina is about to repeal HB2

It's a mistake to award bullying by the left. They should double the taxes on the NBA instead.

Keep in mind that most business leaders and people on the right in North Carolina support the immediate repeal of HB2.

HB2 was not only about bathroom rules (only the first two pages of the bill addressed bathrooms) -- the rest of the bill rolled back civil rights protections by 100 years, did not allow you to sue in state court for discrimination in the workplace, stripped towns of their powers, eliminated any local variations of higher minimum wage, and forcefully took over local water districts & airport authorities.

Beyond the bathroom rules -- the bill was a complete disaster for the citizens of North Carolina. Even ignoring the billions of dollars in business the bill drove away.

Hear me clearly - any bill that puts in place discrimination is bad for business. Whether it discriminates against particular races, religions, genders, or orientations.

I don't know how you can equate gender specific bathrooms to discrimination.
You are what you are. If you stand to pee, you a he.
Personally I don't care about who is using which bathroom. The problem starts when that is extended to locker rooms and the like.

That's for sure. It's no different than paying a ransom to kidnappers. It guarantees there's going to be more kidnappings.

I can't think of anything more idiotic than letting perverts have the right to go in bathrooms with little girls. And now that everyone knows business leaders who pay the political contributions can be intimidated into doing these things, what's next? There will be a next and they'll dream up something even worse than this, if possible.

I just read what's going on here.

He's only repealing this thing because charlotte is backing down and repealing the pervert ordinance that started it all.

Maybe there's hope after all.

The Charlotte Observer:
Gov. Pat McCrory calls for special legislative session to repeal HB2 — Following a surprise move by the Charlotte City Council, Gov. Pat McCrory said Monday he would call a special session to consider repeal of House Bill 2. —

And if the State Legislature does not repeal their ordinance by December 31st then the Charlotte ordinance remains in place. BTW over 30 other towns and cities have also vowed to pass the exact same ordinance in January if the state legislature does not rescind HB2.

As well as many large businesses gave until the state until December 31st to rescind HB2 or they would move out of state or not expand. Also the MLS stated that North Carolina would not be granted an expansion team unless HB2 was repealed by December 31str.

Incoming Governor Cooper brokered the deal to repeal HB2.

The state of North Carolina could no longer put up with the pain of this discriminatory law.

Oh no, the horror. They should immediately cave.

Keep in mind the millions in revenue this represents. Also keep in mind all the construction jobs from building a 20,000 seat stadium. Not to mention the over 400 jobs (front office, back office, promotions, etc.) associated with team.

Which part of discrimination is bad do you fail to understand?
