It’s just my clock, I guess. When I lived in LA, I found that getting up at 3:30a so that i’m prepped and ready for the 6:30a open was not my cup of tea. Invariably, it started cutting into my sleep time and I need my eight full hours.
Now if I were 24 and working full time, that might be ideal. But I’m not.
Besides, I need to set some parameters, otherwise I’m looking at the whole planet. For me, sleep is important. That’s why I’m looking at the band between -5 GMT and, say, +2 GMT.
If it gets too complicated and you wanted to stay closer to New England for family or other reasons, you could move up to Burlington, Vermont. You are only two hours out of Montreal to mix it up a little. It is not an exotic move but it would be a change and keep you out of the hot weather, and in a time zone that you are used to.
