Just out of curiousity, How long did it take you to go through the $18K you mentioned in a different thread? What types of strategies were you using? What training/research have you received?
I have been trading since May 2005 with a prop firm. I think I was down about $3K in trading at the end of '05. I've seen lots of traders come and go, some seemed to have what it takes but were underfunded, others just thought it would be easy and when it wasn't they got out. Then there were the guys that simply had no business putting their $$ at risk.
BTW, I lost much more in 2006, a large portion on one idiotic trade. 2007, pretty close to a breakeven again, was grinding out a few thousand a month for most of the year, and then gave it all back during the late summer/fall.
Not sure where I'm going with all this, but I think you would do well to go over your trading history, find out what went wrong and why. Before you continue to trade, try to figure out how you got to where you are today. $18 grand is a lot of money to lose in the market, unless you have a lot more where that came from.
