Looking to buy a new PC

Gets better.

* I find 30" simply too large. 20" makes a nie curve in front of me.
* I like having more SCREENS. Windows window management (full size, smaller size, windows 7 auto sizing etc.) works around physical screens. Having more of those makes organizing the windows a tad easier ;)

Plus, as you said - the cost. One pays more for what I think is a lot less in utility.

Always look at newegg.com first when shopping for cpu stuff. Also Bing has a 6% cash back from newegg. I also like tigerdirect/compusa.

Be wary of those i-inc monitors, I would not trust them...dead pixels etc.

the i-7 920 should be all you need for 5 years.

just make sure you have enough watts and cooling for the 1 or 2 graphics cards you will probably get.

if i could buy a 50" i would.

You can can't you, maybe even bigger.

Call up your local basket ball stadium and ask them where to buy one of the massive screens they have in the middle :)

Some video cards have "HDMI out" now... could run 50"+ LCD or Plasma TV.

Yeah, but who cares?

Seriously.

I mean, I love them - for TV. I could see a 50" LCD somewhere in a conference room. Or the wall behind my trading desk.

But... for trading I want something that I can overview with my eyes. My sweetspot is around 20". 24" MAY work. Anything larger - sorry.

One ET'er trades like he's on the Starship Enterprise... NC-1701D.

Captains chair (favorite cold adult beverage in hand, no doubt) 8 feet away from 2, 42" LCDs.

Big TVs would be OK for trading so long as viewed from far enough away.
