Look like ET could not keep many old members actively posting anymore. Why?

Unfortunately, if a long time member leaves without an explanation...I assume the worst...health related and because of such...not able to post only via personal experience.

That's ok. We will assume the best. Whenever a member leaves, I will assume he/she's made it in trading, made millions and is now living in an uninhabited island paradise that has no internet; that's why he/she can't post anymore and had no way to inform us beforehand.

I mainly come here to see what unique interesting ideas I can gobble up and add to my collective. Lately it's been like a dessert. I think I'm more on the giving end now then receiving. I miss the poster here named Master Cheese. He had a unique thinking style.

Now, having said that consider this scenario:

If you were to be locked up in a cave by terrorists. At the end of 1 week what do you do to free yourself?

What are the assumptions and givens? How many terrorists are there? Are those terrorists armed? What kind of weapons do they have? How many weapons do they have each? What are they? Where are they from? Do they speak a language that I can understand? Do they understand any language that I speak? Is any part of their bodies exposed? What is their organizational structure? How do they guard me? Any shift patterns? Specific behavior patterns? Does this cave have any existing exits or do I have to make one? Am I bound? Am I going to be locked up in any cages or prisons of some sort in the cave? What is my cage or "prison" like if there is one? How big is the cave? What is the cave made out of? What are the possible things that I can find in the cave? Are there any booby traps in the cave? What's my health condition at the end of 1 week? Was I fed or at least given water while being locked up? Where is the cave located? What's surrounding the cave? What is the weather like outside the cave? Is a rescue team on its way to rescue me after I free myself from the cave or am I going to be totally on my own once I get out of the cave? Is there any deadly animals nearby? Are there more terrorists outside of the cave?

Just some of the questions that came to my mind. I am sure others will have more. Have fun constructing the puzzle for us to solve!

So am I to assume that I won't have his iron-man prototype gadget and I won't have a companion who happens to be an outstanding heart surgeon who speaks the language of the terrorists and not only becomes my friend, my doctor, my assistant, my interpreter but would also be ready to sacrifice himself for me at the most crucial moment? I think he was a side character added for the movie. The comics, anime, and tv show didn't have him. Tony Stark did it all himself. So I'll say no for the scenario. The only tool you'll have is the hammer. Hehe.

Still not enough information about the cave itself. And also how long do I have until the terrorists execute me? Considering that it takes one 19 years to dig a hole and a tunnel to get out of an imprisonment with a hammer (and a place to dump out the dirt) in Shawshank Redemption and 25 years in Count of Monte Cristo, I would say there wouldn't be enough time especially given my health condition unless I can bargain and reach some kind of agreement with the terrorists to receive better medical treatment at least and more time in exchange for working for them but if it's immediate, then again there wouldn't be enough time to escape unless I get lucky and strike the hammer at this one weak spot of the cave, the cave collapses killing all of the terrorists and I escape but then I would still die out in the desert unless I again miraculously land right by my rescue helicopter when I escape and I get whisked away immediately.
