Long term investing

Hi

Im relativly new to trading, and i had a few questions and I wanted to know your opinions.

Are trading softwares also used to buy and hold stock long term like investing? I mean is it the same thing or is long term investing done differntly as a whole?

Also I am using Plus500 for trading, any opinions about this software?
