long nat gas

Quote from DayTrader10:

I like BAS as a natural gas play.
no kidding, I have no opinion on BAS, but after trying to figure out a way to do it, I finally came to the conclusion that the only sensible way to take a position in energy was to buy individual stocks.

It aint easy. I don't advise any amateur (which is what I am) who can't spend 14 hours a day reading and understanding balance sheets and fundamental reports to do it on his own.

these analysts don't come cheap. And a good one won't tell you whether to buy or sell. Just the facts.

like the man told me over there in CL, "I don't buy oil. I buy oil wells."

I regularly trade NG. Anyone else know about the flash crash at the beginning of the year? I was short but didnt exit since it was overnight. Still exited well though.

Currently short NG at 3260, looking for new lows around 3000.

Ok now NGH3 has reached 3.31. Barring a monster reversal to close out the day, I am increasing my target to 3.4.

your trading futures calenders??? not just outright spot?

Yeah as NG kept falling, I noticed the spreads kept creeping up so I decided to buy the NGJ3-NGV3 spreads as opposed to NGH3 outright.

It paid off today as I was able to get out of my spreads without loss even though NG broke down pretty badly.

At any rate, I was wrong about NG heading to 3.4 so I'm done going long NG for now.

you are playing the changing demand between the two contracts as well as a direction..

are their ways to play NG with a smaller nominal investment then in the futures..

can you play beneficiaries of NG's higher future price..
