Login Loop Problem

Hello!

First, I would like to say that I have several broker
accounts and IBKR is one of the BEST. I would
highly recommend it to any trader.

But it has some issues.

This morning I placed a trade for a couple hundred
shares of whatever.

I did not set a stop because I projected the price
would rise and I wanted to let it ride.

I was also placing several trades elsewhere, so I
was busy with that, and I put all my trades on a
separate online watchlist so that I could monitor
all my trades at once.

A couple of hours passed when I noticed that the
stock in my IBKR account had increased nicely and
I went to login so that I could get out of the trade.

I logged in, entered my authentication code, and
got stuck on some settings page about my global
trading permissions.

I went through that rigmarole and after that the
only option on the page was to log out.

I logged in again and all of the above happened a
couple more times before I was able to get to my
account to exit the aforementioned trade.

By this time, the price of the stock decreased and
I lost profits because I was dinking around with
this login loop.

I was NOT trying to change my global settings at
all, I wasn't interested in that, I don't know why
I was on that screen, and login is not the time
for your company to push that matter, since
people are trying to conduct other business.

Also, if there is a way to increase the login session
that would be great. It's a drag having to keep
logging in to a timed out session when you are
trying to do trades.

Finally, your system is slow to send the
authentication codes.

PLEASE FIX ALL OF THIS.

Thank you for your time.

With that mentality you would never set a stop when entering a trade.

Can't you read? I wanted to let it ride.

This post is not for you, it is addressed to IBKR staff.

I don't answer to you about how I run my trades.

Have a nice day.

There are anger management classes everywhere. Find one. Lots of luck.

Thank you for wishing me luck but I
have nothing to be angry about since
I am overjoyed about making massive
profits yesterday and it looks like that
will happen again today.

Why don't you grow up and try to make
yourself useful, maybe you could even
find someone you might be helpful to,
instead of posting nonsense in a thread
that does not concern you.

Have a GREAT day.

GoldDigger - I assume you're using the web interface. Once a year there's a mandatory account confirmation I need to step through. When I sign into the web site I'm stuck until it's complete. Is this what you're talking about?

Normally I use TWS which doesn't force me into account management.

Thank you for your reply.

Yes, I am using the website. I don't like to download platforms
to my computers, as I am only doing simple trades.

It was not an account confirmation, besides that, it happened
three consecutive times, where I logged in, and after I entered
my authorization code, I was returned to the same page that I
described, and was given no choice besides logging back out.

There wasn't any type of menu at all, just two radio buttons
to select Global and something else, and a logout button.

It was a frustrating nightmare, since I was trying to unload
my shares to take my profits.

I was using my usual login page, that I keep open on a
continuing basis, and I think I went to another browser to
login to the account to get past the glitch. After the third
episode, I was upset, I don't recall exactly what I did, but
it was something different.

This should not happen on a major broker account, it would
be different if it was some off the wall firm.

I wonder if IBKR even looks at this forum, because it does
not seem like it.

Anyway, thanks again.

It is a chat board. The thread doesn't belong to you. If you beg to differ air your frustrations and ill humor to the moderators.

I never even implied that the thread belonged to me,
but that this conversation was intended for the purpose
of resolving a problem that I, and possibly others, had
with the IBKR login.

If anyone needs reminding that forums do not belong
to them, that would be you since you seem to have a
compulsion to post your useless comments tens of
thousands of times.

Nothing that you posted here was helpful or added
any value at all. It's people like you that make this
forum suck.

This forum has no formal connection to IBKR. I doubt that they would devote the necessary resources to have someone monitor or participate in this forum. This section of the forum is titled "Interactive Brokers" simply because it is a dedicated area for IBKR customers to communicate amongst themselves. It is not an "official" IBKR forum.

I'm sure IBKR has a contact link for accountholders to submit feedback about their products and services. If you want someone to listen and maybe even respond, that's where you should go.
