Log-out Problem

It appears the log-out function with ET doesn't work properly.

Now I simply cannot log out. After logging out with the " All cookies cleared! Click here to return to the forums index." message, my user name and account are still actively logged in. Tried re-starting the computer as well.

Note: I don't have this problem with my web-based e-mail accounts.

Any comments?
 
I noticed the same thing. I assumed they had solved the problem of multiple aliases, as I was about to log in as myself. I deleted all the ET cookies (an ass-tonishing number of parasites invade your computer from there), relogged on my internet service to get a new IP, and still it wouldn't work. So I guess I am stuck forever as Dr. Deco. A single personality? What if I don't really LIKE me after a while?
 
Ok so your having problems logging out. Flow these steps, until you
log out successfully. If you are able to log out before you complete
all of them do not continue. Please let me know if you had success.

First Try This
Click on each link in the order presented.

If that does not work, then try this.

Didn't work. Actually, I like this because if everybody has this problem eventually all the active members will be permanently logged in and we can see how few there really are.

I've been thinking about this number for long time. My guess is 500! :D
 
There have been another problem recently.

While logging-in, once clicking a link supplied by another poster, the link many times directed me to a newly opened page however with a logged-out mode. It had not been that way before.

Curious to know if only me (and Dr Deco?) got these problems?
 
On another computer with a little less protection the site slammed thirteen cookies into me from advertisers and ad trackers upon log in.

Start Button >>> Programs >>> Accesories >>> System Tools >>> Disk Cleanup.

If the above doesn't clean your cookies, try CCleaner (free download) and return to login after cleaning your disk. :D

Thanks, Todd. I manually removed the cookie, will look at what you suggest. I still subscribe to the conspiracy theory view, though. I need to get this fixed, lest I get stuck forever one day as Kokomo Bogart.
