Lockheed to upgrade weapons systems on naval destroyers
Lockheed Martin has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Navy to upgrade weapons systems on several of its Arleigh Burke-class destroyers. The deal is valued at more than $80.3 million under the terms of a fixed-price-incentive contract, which is a modification on a previous award.(UPI)

Why is this news?

Company has revenues of about $24B, nd you're talking about an extension to a contract they already have (not exactly "new" business) that grows their sales by a whopping 0.15% p.a., and on the basis if their profit margin, increases their cash about $3M per annum.

It's like saying "Since Fatty McFatFace moved to New York, McDonald's at Times Square (NYSE:MCD) have sold 10 extra burgers a month".

Lockheed Martin has won a "handshake deal" with the U.S. Defense Department for a batch of 141 F-35A combat jets, at a likely value of around $13 billion. The preliminary agreement reportedly lowers the price of the jet by around 6%, although final pricing and terms will be announced in the coming weeks. Reuters
