LLC Dividends

Can a single member LLC elected to be taxed as a corp pay dividends? Would that make sense to do this? Instead of electing pass through taxation on a single member LLC? Receive dividends every quarter? I know when I incorporated my Illinois LLC I could have elected not to have pass through taxation.
