If DeSantis gets the nomination she will take credit for it.

Because, I guess no one is thinking about DeSantis, Pence, Cotton, (insert various names) without her.

Normally, when people talk about some ding-dong like Cheney running for president, I just shrug and say "their home state is the only place they will win."
Of course that will not work here will it? Cheney would not take Wyoming in the same way that Skankala did not take California in the primary.

Keep in mind that the entire intent of any 2024 Presidential campaign by Liz Cheney is to collect donations to take down Trump as a candidate. As far as pundits can tell her intent is not to get into office -- which is unlikely. Her campaigning in the primary run will effectively help clear a path for DeSantis IMO.

Yeh. but the press will dog him with the question and if he distances himself even mildly it will show. He needs to stay in good standing with Trump voters all the way through in order to harvest them if Trump is not the nominee. Stayyyy far away from Cheney.

She sees her mission and work at to take Trump down and out of the race, which could include preventing even being nominated.

So if DeSantis gets nominated she will declare success.

What, like a poison pill or something? The only way I think that works is if she shared voters that would normally vote for Trump, that she could steal. But since the voters for both are almost completely opposed to each other, I can't see how that happens.

DeSantis is more likely to cannibalize voters from Trump, or vice versa.
