I'm a former futures trader away from trading for several years, and interested in equities trading.
A question for Livingston:
Do you prefer NYSE stocks or NASDAQ?
Which would you recommend to a new trader to equities?
Thanks for any help!

OK, I'll take the bait.
I want to learn how to trade well enough to net at least $150K annually. I'm willing to put in whatever time and work is necessary, and I have available capital.
What do you advise?

Thanks, Livingston!
Would you agree that the position itself dictates holding period?
It would seem that in some trades you're going to exit almost as soon as you get filled, but in others (especially those going well) you might well hold for hours.
A suggestion if you're willing:
It'd be great to see a "trade dissection" of sorts. The stock itself isn't important, but the thought process you use in analyzing and managing the trade relative to the factors influencing your thinking would be very helpful!
Glad to see this thread revived!
