Quote from dandxg:
Well said skunk. When I hear all of BS about it's a new world, a new economy, and globalization, you have to look at this and that before just considering trade and budget deficits I grab for my boots because it is getting thick. It's simple economics, are you spending more than you bring in? Are you exchanging more traded goods then you are purchasing?
Running a deficit should be against the law except for critical social services and infrastructure, that's it.
Carpenters or plumbers need a diploma before they can start working.
Becoming president is not linked to any diploma; all you need is enough voters to become president, or enough money to buy votes. For some presidents they needed the voters to be idiots, but apparently they weren't that difficult to be found. Even reelection wasn't a problem at all.
But if the majority got what they wanted ( after all the US is a democracy, or not?) why do so many complain now?
I must admit that in Europe we have the same problem but in a lesser degree. In this matter we must agree that the US have the biggest of the world. But we don't envy the US for that.
