And living in South Beach isn't??????? LOL.

To reiterate above, you quoted a 60 mile stretch of Florida coastline. South Beach is a neighborhood. Why live in a college town where all around you are 21-year old hotties and every store, restaurant, bar, club and entertainment locale is geared to serve that population? If you are young and single then it is putty heaven. All the women in general are good looking in Florida but living in a college town once you hit 30, especially if you are married, gets old fast.
When I went to school in New Orleans the drinking age was 18. So when my friends and I went out drinking (we were 25 - 28) most of the women in the bars were 20 on average. Which was @#$%-ing awesome the first two years but got old after that. As you get older, you realize the age difference between 20 and 28 real fast lol. So we started to migrate to bars that were a step up. Women were still attractive and easier to talk to because they were not fall down drunk or only able to say "like" in between every word
Ahh Mav to be under 30 again and single lol..

Phil, I hear you but you are not reading the thread. Most of the people on here are on single and talking about living large in south FL!!!!!! That is my point. Sure, if you are married, I would not want to live in south FL or Gainesville!!!! But the title of the thread is LIVING LARGE IN SOUTH FLORIDA. LOL.

Ture, but I still think you can live large in South Florida. We were scouting real estate investments in Ft. Lauderdale and there are some nice condos/apartments near the heart of Ft. Lauderdale (which is also not far from the water) which were quite reasonable. I think you can live large there if you give up living in South Beach in a penthouse or on that Island where all the famous people live in Miami.
Penbrooke Pines has so many places to live now and that is in the middle of Ft. Lauderdale and Miami. Very nice suburban areas next to a lot of things.
I guess the question is what is meant by Living Large lol....

There is absolutely 100% no way you can live large in Gainesville....living large is well "LIVING LARGE"...and on avg that means work hard and play harder....and you wont get that up in Git-er-doneville
