Singapore of course for the kids sake.
I chose thailand as I have no kids but if you want your kids good educated Sgp is the place to go.

Yeah, if you're looking to punch someone, steal something or murder a person, yeah I wouldn't recommend singapore. But if you're just a regular law abiding citizen, Singapore is a decent place to live in. Clean, not much crime, etc. The only downside to Singapore is that owning a car and condo is quite expensive (because of the weak dollar).

Also, Singapore is a bit too small for my taste and is quite bland and boring.

If the OP has a decent amount of money and make a good living, you can add in the Philippines, Thailand, and Malaysia and make sure to live in a "richer" neighborhood.

I have lived in Singapore and now reside in the Philippines because my family has a business here. I lived in Chicago and Cleveland from when I was 20 until I was 30. Certainly, if you can't deal with third world country bullshit, stick with Japan, HK or Singapore.

P.S. Word of warning, I have a feeling people in Singapore (mostly Malays and Indians) are against good hygiene because they really really stink.

Philippines - pretty decent english
Singapore - Pretty good in english
Indonesia - Hard to get around with english
Thailand - very very very basic english
HK - decent english
Malaysia - decent english
Japan - hard to get around with english... not that you can't but it's just harder.

I bet you use toilet paper to "clean" your ar$e and keep smelling your sh1t all day, thats why every person you meet seems to stink. You know what? ppl like you REALLY need deodorants in order to cover up your stink! No surprises there..

But.. what you need more is some culture and civility to de-odourise your stinking soul.
