LiveFX Trades/Setups

A day of impulse but unfortunately couldn't partake in most of it as had line issues - the same day as Time Warner announces their billions of profits! How annoying. Nevertheless was good to hear everyone took something out of the market today. Very pleasing to us - saw an entry from Tammy on the CHF that was classic spit recognition that had Bob and I going wow! Great stuff :)

Tomorrow is NFP - will play it normally as we do - if the set up there prior will take it but flat 5-15 before and after - no heroes on this system! We watch and evaluate the herd's reactionary actions.

Still managed to pull out a few trades for the day despite the huge down time which was rewarding at least.

Today was May 5, Cinco de Mayo which marks the victory of the Mexican Army over the French at the Battle of Puebla. Althought the Mexican army was eventually defeated, the "Batalla de Puebla" came to represent a symbol of Mexican unity and patriotism - it is a huge day in Texas also and probably explains some of my trading today! That Yen certainly looked like it had more than Tequila to fire it!

NFP was some nice setups euro and aussie wise but JPY was something else! Never had so much difficlty with it - never had 7 PG/PL consecutives fail and never seen 3 mm recalcs and 4 80/20 grid failures but that is why we have a system. The logic was avoid the nutters on the Euro on NFP and play with boring old Yen. Johnny Hindsight would have to say well Japan was on holiday and there is next week's currency report. Important but still! Funny thing the momentum boys of NYC should have had their day in such an environment but not to be - just how short JPY are they? Frustrating as they JPY affected the game plan and got out of some super Euro entires on frustration - very dissappointing trading on my behalf. Was a very rewarding week though all the same.

Had the same technical isseus with good old Time Warner - have rebuilt a new station with all the indicators to work on upload/download data for Monday so won't be an issue.

First day back trading since my son Samuel's birth and I was hoping for an easy day to ease into it - not to be though. Was very pleased with the first two trades - a gem 61.8% set up on the Euro and we bought the absolute low on the pullback at 1.2833 - trouble is at 42 I exited for breakfast and to recharge the batteries and came back to see one heck of a rip which was tough to short even at these late stages of the rally as we see manic behaviour across all markets - Gold, Copper, Platinum and only the USD.

One thing I did get to see was so many good solid trading calls from many of the new traders in the virtual room - very nice.

Managed to take home just 11 pips after a bit of fast market made for some jerky trades.

Should be more rested tomorrow. :)

Very pleasing - trying to adjust the sleeping patterns can pay off :) Sunday night saw the squeeze of the NY hopefuls from Friday - played the Euro squeese there and was able to play the classic 1-2 off v of iii and a measured 4 b wave on the Aussie. Missed much of the morning but a very profitable session nevertheless.

Open a EURCHF low risk short - high risk reward rising wedge over the figure.

Nice movement today as the corrective wave chopped about. Concentrated on the EURCHF and a nice pennant play on the Euro.

A great trading day - some very classic KnovaWave set ups. I was pleased with the return of 142 pips - been very rewarding since Samuel joined the team!

Could have been much better though as ESignal Struggled to keep up as it got heavy - had to exit a great Euro short at 1.2904 to reboot for their server! Now that would have been nice to have had that still on.

What is pleasing without big risks have taken 362 out of the market in the past 3 sessions with out too much risk and being in for only short periods. Yes our methodology is hard work at times but clinical when the chaos arrives - pleasing that we benefit from this rather than get rocked by it.

Today was a story of perserverence - first stop was a frustrating loss as bought the EUR 20 spit and 0/8 at .17 stopped out at .12 offered went 3 pips less and then rallied straight 40 to a total of 70 pips which seemed to sum up the first half of my day. A battle from there but Aussie looked like a perfect rising wedge and after an initial quick stop the combined KnovaWave set up and Copper pullback play paid off - though still exited too early - but not too unhappy with that after the initial battle - the market is at the end of the day a never end test.

Have been playing with the concept of allocating USD capital to the one pair over the past fortnight but feel it is better to return to the previous allocation whereby the JPY, EUR, AUD etc are allocated by their merits. I feel it has led to an other senstive trading whereby we have exited positions (profitable) too early and put entry levels "too hopeful" and missed a few. Plus it didn't help on the Euro today particualry the 55 sell :( It rammed home the limitations of that thinking and showed it was really just scalping with a different dress on!

Anyway very happy with the end result - though a long day and thank you Aussie and the NYMEX. :)

Today can best be summed up by the 1 hour I spent in the dentist's chair getting my teeth cleaned! The market seemed to be a replica of that experience.

It was very choppy and gappy and I had my dollar buy orders one grid away this am missing a classic Euro 80 8/8 spit expecting a figure spit (got to 91 and dumped!) - story of the day unfortunately got shaken on the gappy market many a time. Managed to be 24 pips through some missed swings so can't complain too much.
