I strongly believe that live trading rooms benefit no one other than the person who is getting paid to host such a room.
Maybe there is a private room somewhere with like-minded friends that somehow "works," whatever "works" in this context would mean. I'd bet those are rare.
Upstairs trading is a solitary business.
I find the concept of "mentorship" in trading also suspect. I'm sure there are scattered cases where an seasoned vet was able to transmit wisdom to the neophyte. But few and far between.
I do belive that books, articles, blog posts, videos, etc. can be used to communicate market knowledge to the novice (and journeyman) alike.
But trading rooms, mentorships? Fuck 'em.
