Live Cattle - Top ?

Just doing mainly Rollovers in Live Cattle and Feeders short and long in Hogs. Add on deep retracements and hedge, and when going too over extended with trend, when bars are too large and volume shortens will do Credit Spreads or short term spreads. Just a matter of patience, sitting on hands.

Not much has changed except rollovers, been short since Dec 2014, added shorts in June and doing Put credit spreads Wednesday in Live Cattle, system says looking for small rebound, I am staying short live Cattle and Feeders, still long Hogs.

Sometimes feel like Maytag repair man, but to get longer profits long term, one has to be very patient.

Staying the course, my system has much to seek for down move to end in beef, on any deep rally, I will sell more, any time price hit certain lows I will do Put Credit spreads, just waiting. I switch from Monthly to daily as far as when to do what.

I did get stopped out on half position that was left in Live Hogs Longs and still have Call Credit spreads decaying.

Took losses from March 10/11 shorts on Feeders and Live Cattle but was hedged, shorted again March 16/15 and eventually lifted hedges, waiting for first target of $4800 to take profit on half, system says staying short, looking forward to take out Dec lows. There was excellent divergence on highs on macd and rsi. Need for this market to go below on LC 102 and Feeders 125 to start considering reversing.

Life is good, I do not use trailing stops, stops are located near highs on the monthly charts.

Since I have changed to Very Long Term in Commodity markets, takes great deal of patience of staying with trades, I often almost forget the positions during the week unless there are limit moves like in Cattle today, but the HUGE money is in Long term cause for one you get all the gaps, less commissions and can hedge.
I need 118.70 area to get first targets.

Took off half my position in Live Cattle and Feeders, looking for continuation of down ward trend big time in Cattle, still long piggies from lows and have open profits still hedged as system says piggies not make deep enough retracement to buy more.

Nothing has changed, still short them cows(original Shorts Live Cattle/Feeders at top-4/5 add-ons, taken off half positions at $4800/$5000) and long them piggies. Still have much more for the Meats to Tumble before I can think of reversing and Hogs much higher till reversal. Long term trading is as boring as it gets, but instead of spending time on the next day trading system, I spend it now divided between more signals for both Long term commodities and Stock/Etf/futures Options. Both Long term is very profitable, but it is very much like fishing, pull it in some then let it out to tire then pull in much more then let it out....and takes long time.

Question for you guys, are there specialized software and platforms that you guys use to analyze the cattle markets? I am in energy, and we have all sorts of very specific and expensive software and platforms used to analyze fundamentals of the power markets (Genscape, Yes Energy, Innotap etc.). What sort of information are you guys looking at to make your trading decisions? Are they very niche sites and subscription-based platforms?
