Since there is no high speed internet available in my area, I will get a T1 line with a Cisco 1800 series router delivered next week.
I am going to run a T 3400 dedicated to trading, and for now to other computers on that line.
To network these computers I need another router which will act as a DHCP server. I choose the wired Linksys broadband router BEFSR81 which has 8 ports.
What turns me off, are a tremendous amount off negative reviews for this product, many of which are saying something like: works fine for awhile and quits suddenly or reports of connection speeds for the last hop as slow as 56k.
I have an old SMC Barricade router. Will that one do the trick, or are there any better suggestions.
Thank you very much.
