Limit Down in ES ?!

The fact that many of the advisors on CNBC remain quite positive (bargains a plenty aso.) means that we haven't seen the bottom yet. People tend to underestimate the size of some of these hedge funds which are liquidating - as far as I know hedge funds were almost nonexistent back in 73-74.

Reaver

No one was crying and bitching when all these fruit pickers in Cali were buying $750,000 McMansions.

Now it's time to shake things up a little. They had their fun, now it's time for others to have theirs.

Turnabout's fair play right?

this is the best definition of the carry trade I've seen. Thank you.

Is it too long to go long Yen as a hedge?
I'm currently short euro and long dollar but those aren't moving as fast as the Yen.

I wish I had known about this carry trade many months ago. It's fascinating.

With the global economies tanking, ALL strong global banks will soon begin to position & posture to help their own. BOJ was a notorious manipulator in the 80s, so with the yen strong for natural causes, tehy won't get in the way just yet, but shortly, they will begin messing around so you are playing vs BOJ.

I don't play in that sandbox so .....

what, exactly, does es/ym limit accomplish?

last i checked, it didnt hold spy/dia or spx/indu up

it just makes es/ym illiquid at the most dangerous moments
