Like a ton of bricks...

I can tell that you guys are not watching CNBC, but on K&C tonight they are going to explain why the great earnings will finally break us out of the trading range. Well that plus the dividend tax cut. And if I recall from previous episodes Wireless and Telecom will be leading the way. Thank god I have those two to help me invest.

LOL, me thinks you are right. I just can't believe they keep playing the commercial. CNBC has really redone their programming to distance itself from the market. Except today.

One tidbit I found interesting, not sure of the validity of the numbers was that more money was lost in 1932 than 1929. As the market finally bottomed in July of 1932. It really strikes me as odd that no one that I have seen has mentioned this in the 4 down years crowd.

and which direction do you feel?

(looks like south to me...)

I think the Dow's high was in August '29 and the low in July '32, making it really just under 3 years from market top to bottom. It was someone counting the yearly returns of each of the 4 calendar years involved - 1929, 1930, 1931, 1932 - that came up with the "4 down years" statistic that is not an accurate representation.
