Speaking of "colder winter"... seems to be the case in Colorado this year. Not brutally cold, but colder than recent years. Unfortunately, it's been a "dry" cold... lower temperatures but not accompanied by needed snow/moisture.
According to the government, the western US has been in an "ever increasing drought condition" since 2001... with Lake Powell and Lake Mead filling only to about 40% of capacity". We out west would like more moisture, or water use restrictions will be in our near future.
And before the Lefty "Climate Change" fuckhead zealots can chime in on this thread with their "see, I told you so"... let me remind that the Anasazis were driven out of the southwest 1,000 years ago... likely by prolonged drought... long before there was any thought of "AGW". Most probably it's all been because of "natural earth cycles and the sun"... now, just as then.

Further, the United States has been "leading" for 6 fucking decades while the big three polluters, China, Russia and India have done little to nothing. Beyond that there is zero conclusive evidence than man made emissions have any substantive impact on the overall climate that changes, has changed, and will continue to change regardless of what we do, or if human being even exist. Again, first you must explain in detail the why and how all climate shifts happened before industrialization or long before humans ever walked the earth, many of those shifts much more dramatic than we are now experiencing. And when you're done with all that then you can explain how taxing the U.S. into a third world shithole will help anything, anything at all.
