Whenever I get into a "discussion" with a negative person...you know the type, bad gov't, bad economy, bad this, bad that, I tend to nod and simply respond with "what is your idea to make this situation better?" Not a brilliant response, but seems to always end up followed by a long silence.
Then to part two, those who say "well, we oughta do this and w oughta do that, we'll show THEM" (whoever "them" might be) ... my response is generally ... "Hmm, and what exactly would be the UPSIDE to that? Just curious." Yep, you guessed it, followed by another long silence.

When getting a print job done at Staples, always always ask for the total cost.
This staff initially told me it's going to cost $3 service fee to print a couple of pages on plain paper. I was shocked since it would cost me $3+ to print 2 pages of papers. She then go, "okay, let me do it for you". She said it in such a way that sound like she is going to do me a favor. I then asked her again how much would that be, then she goes, "$0.13 per page". I thought she waived that ridiculous $3 service fees, but I was wrong. At the checkout, I was charged $3.50+ for just a couple of papers.
$3.50 is really no big deal, but I just feel like I got hustled. I should have asked her the TOTAL cost.

Life Tip: Get a printer.
Hang out with kids. They keep you young, they appreciate the attention, they don't judge you. Kids don't ask hard questions. Be the one adult in their life who doesn't yell at them.

One time my daughter invited 12 friends over and I drove them in a camper to an amusement park.
When they were all loaded in and ready to go I brought out my accordian and played jingle bells. ha they were trapped, it was funny as hell. My daughter took a lot of grief on that one. Most of them had never seen an accordian. {:>)
