Life under Obama sucks. And these numbers prove it

Obama could have telephoned the Japanese and told them to ''get with the program''
like he did to Putin about the nuke thingy.

Of course it's just a theory, but it's always possible..

You do realize Obama had nothing to do with Japan surprising the market with even more QE, right? Or maybe I give you too much credit, and you don't.

Obama has everything to do with Japan - as with the Chinks like YOU HE whispered sweet nothings into the head honcho's ear as he drilled - voila = more QE

This black man is delivering a bull market in homos

What a president!!

Was it HE who whilst drilling you and whispering stuff in your ear that caused you to resign your post as moderator here? I ask because I read your resignation thread (you told me who you were, remember?) - doesn't look like you could even do that job as moderator well judging from the complaints! How many did you expel? Looks like Admin. had to step in and save your ass from the drubbing you were getting.

Do you have an apartment at ET?

I don't know, who? The people who make the beer?

Three friends -- two straight guys and a bowlegged sow gay named Tsing Tao -- and their significant others were on a cruise.

A tidal wave came up and swamped the ship; they all drowned, and next thing you know, they're standing before St. Peter. First came one of the straight guys and his wife. St. Peter shook his head sadly. "I can't let you in. You loved money too much. You loved it so much, you even married a woman named Penny." Then came the second straight guy. "Sorry, can't let you in, either. You loved food too much. You loved to eat so much, you even married a woman named Candy!"

Tsing Tao turned to his black boyfriend and whispered nervously, "It doesn't look good, Dick."

Show me my "resignation" thread. :)

As for the rest of your ramblings, what is your fascination with homosexuality? All the ladyboys in Thailand can't keep you satiated, is that it?

Real men don't have to go to Thailand to stand out as special to real women.
Real men don't have to pay a cheap looker to get some.
Real men don't have to brag.

Oh, and yes, I have an apartment at ET. Whatever that's supposed to mean.

Obama's Approval Rating Remains Unchanged This Year, So Why All the Press Coverage About 'Sinking' Poll Numbers?

Obama's approval rating dip from 42 to 40 percent was big news at the Post, and was stressed in the first paragraph of the news article. But look at how the Post downplayed its own polling data just two weeks later when it showed Obama's approval had bumped up from 40 to 43 percent -- a larger movement in the other direction, albeit one that remained within the margin of error.

From the 15th paragraph [emphasis added]: "The new Post-ABC survey puts Obama's overall national approval rating at 43 percent, up a statistically insignificant three points from two weeks ago."

That's right, when the approval rating dropped two points, the movement was hailed as big news at the Post. When it went up three points that same month, it was dismissed as "statistically insignificant"?

The Post, like lots of Beltway news media outlets, appears to be too firmly committed a Republican talking point about Obama's "sinking" approval rating.
From Gallup:

October 30, 2010: 44 percent
October 28, 2011: 43 percent
October 28, 2013: 42 percent
October 28, 2014: 42 percent

Tell me, Ricter, did you bother to look into the GDP components? That usually tells a more complete story than headline scanning.

Q3 GDP Rises 3.5% Despite Sharp Slowdown In Consumption, Pushed Higher By Government Spending Spree
Moments ago, the market was expecting Q3 GDP to print at 3.0%, and was pleasantly surprised when instead it got a 3.5% print, sending all risk assets kneejerk higher. However, a quick glance into the components revealed that things were certainly not as they seemed, with Personal Consumption in Q3 actually decreasing notably from Q2's 2.5%, to just 1.8% in Q3, below the 1.9% Expected, and accounting for 1.22% of the 3.54% Q3 GDP, the lowest Personal Consumption boost to GDP since Q2 2012 excluding the infamous Q1 winter vortex quarter.

Some of the notable moves in Q3 GDP: Inventory, which was expected to boost GDP, was in fact a detractor, leading to a -0.57% net impact on the bottom line. This, however, was more than offset by net trade, which surged from Q2's -0.34% to 1.32% as Imports reversed for the first time since Q1 2013, meaning imports decline in Q3 suggesting a sharp slowdown in end demand in the US, which is also why inventories slid. One wonders just what all those PMI indices were looking at if domestic industries not only ground to a halt but reversed from Q2?

So what happened to boost Q2 GDP if that core driver, the US consumer was not there? Simple. Government stepped in, and stepped in hard, with its 0.83% boost to the bottom line GDP the highest since Q2 of 2009!

In other words, the Fed, which yesterday had the advance GDP print in hand, decided to end QE on hopes Government spending would continue. And since government spending in this case was mostly a function of surging National Defense spending, it appears that Janet Yellen is strongly betting on, drumroll, war.
Nice charts. thanks. Does it seem to you we are stuck in neutral? I am having trouble seeing any significant trend one way or another. It seems there is a general malaise. Total lack on enthusiasm for the upcoming election as well. Administration=democrats=republicans=bla bla bla.

Those Washington folks seem to me to have fought each other to a standstill. It is like don't just do something, stand there! Surely we can do better than that.

AS for an apartment at ET = cop here, then politician, but gave up trading = senior citizen retired at ET

Yet another ET-ite who can't see a TOP or Bottom coming - got buggered in the 2006 HOUSING CRASH, then posts a thread for advice on whether to sell at the near bottom in 2008 = typical ET geniass.

3 days before the March 2009 bottom, geniass Tsing Tao = Ivanovich wrote this
We may just have a steady bleed out until there's just nothing left but people/funds who have just resigned themselves that this is the way it's going to be, and they're done selling and will just have to wait 20 years for it to come back.

Tsing Tao = Ivanovich = added to AfterLOS "friend" compartment, reciprocation highly unlikely :)and not reqd. :)

i.e. all attacks against Tsing Tao are withdrawn now after I saw this:

Ivanovich posted this:
Site management choosing to publicly "discipline" it's moderators (rather than just send a PM on something), which in turn leads to empowering trolls and demoralizing those who "work" as mods.
(AfterLOS agrees with Ivanovich statement underlined above)

Considering all the work I did here for free
, it's simply not worth my time to "work" for folks like that. I wasn't the only one (mod) who felt that way, but the only one who did something about it.
(AfterLOS agrees with Ivanovich statement in bold above)

I'm sure this message will be deleted as soon as it's seen, but if you wish to contact me, you can PM me. I'll get an email on it.
