How can you think science is on your side regarding mask wearing when studies like this with a 3000 person control group found that masks did not protect the wearers.
And a CDC study had similar findings.
Masks do not protect the wearer per the best data we have.
2. Masks are intrusive. You have no idea what these shit masks from China are doing to your lungs long term. Especially while exercising.

Results:
A total of 3030 participants were randomly assigned to the recommendation to wear masks, and 2994 were assigned to control; 4862 completed the study. Infection with SARS-CoV-2 occurred in 42 participants recommended masks (1.8%) and 53 control participants (2.1%). The between-group difference was −0.3 percentage point (95% CI, −1.2 to 0.4 percentage point; P = 0.38) (odds ratio, 0.82 [CI, 0.54 to 1.23]; P = 0.33). Multiple imputation accounting for loss to follow-up yielded similar results. Although the difference observed was not statistically significant, the 95% CIs are compatible with a 46% reduction to a 23% increase in infection.
Limitation:
Inconclusive results, missing data, variable adherence, patient-reported findings on home tests, no blinding, and no assessment of whether masks could decrease disease transmission from mask wearers to others.
Conclusion:
The recommendation to wear surgical masks to supplement other public health measures did not reduce the SARS-CoV-2 infection rate among wearers by more than 50% in a community with modest infection rates, some degree of social distancing, and uncommon general mask use. The data were compatible with lesser degrees of self-protection.

2. Whether masks protect others in the real world.
That is a questionable proposition... in light of the fact that dirty masks are dangerous... and masks allow stupid people to think they are safe... when they should be keeping their distance.

Jem, you really need to stop going down this road. (And the CDC too. And anyone else who follows this idea of who masks protect.)
Let's follow this ideation logically..
If a mask does not protect the wearer, then why does anyone wear a mask?
Remember, this is logic-talk. If wearing a mask does not protect you, who does it protect? Well, nobody, since everyone who wears a mask is not protected.
Meanwhile, if someone spits at your mouth while you are not wearing a mask, is there a more, or less, chance that you will ingest any germs that person might have? Say...Herpes Simplex 1?
If you had the mask on, would your chances be less that you would contract Herpes Simplex 1? Of course! It is a very virulent disease spread by droplets.
Why does this logic not apply to COVID?
1) Wear a mask. Find one that is comfortable.
2.) Use hand sanitizer when you get back into your vehicle (if applicable)
3.) Wash your hands with warm soapy water when you get home.
3a.) Don't rub your eyeball while out in public.
Simplest rules we can follow, and they are NON-INTRUSIVE. We don't need to lockdown the world for this shit. We just need to follow the simple fucking rules until this passes.
My Lord, people are so fucking stupid. Go on, lick the door handles, and fuck the supermarket produce in the ass!
OY!
