Saif al-Islam Gadhafi said during a speech on Libyan state television that he said was unscripted. But if the unrest continues, "forget about democracy, forget about reform ... It will be a fierce civil war."
Further reports suggest the 500,000-strong Tuareg tribe in south Libya has heeded the call from the million-strong Warfala tribe to join the uprising. Protesters in Ghat and Ubary, home to Libyan Tuareg clans are reportedly attacking government buildings and police stations.
The leader of the Al-Zuwayya tribe in eastern Libya threatened on Sunday to cut oil exports to Western countries within 24 hours unless authorities stop what he called the "oppression of protesters".
Libya has the largest oil reserves in Africa and exports 1.5 million barrels a day to EUROPE. 37% of it goes to Italy.
