Libs Freak Out Over "Straight White Guy Festival"

An Ohio park that often hosts gay pride events is deviating from that vein with a festival set for September that celebrates heterosexuality â from the viewpoint of white males.

The âStraight White Guy Festivalâ is scheduled for Goodale Park in Clintonville, a local CBS affiliate reported. Flyers for the event say beer will be sold, but illegal drugs arenât welcome.

Critics have already begun railing against the event.

âThis kind of think implies thereâs some kind of struggle going on for being a straight white person in Ohio,â gay marriage activist Michael Premo told the news station. âStraight white people are doing just fine. I think it detracts from the real problems of Ohio that need to be solved, that are being denied their constitutional rights because of who they are, or who they love.â

Others see humor in the event, which some say isnât even a genuine affair, but rather a joke.

I know plenty of straight white people who are not doing "just fine". The "real" problems in Ohio and the rest of the country are not confined to whether or not a couple of homo's can get married. In fact I would argue the gay marriage "problem" isn't even on the list of the real problems all Americans are dealing with. Fucking queer activists just can't stand the idea that they won't be in the spotlight is all this is about. Poor things, the weight of the world is upon them.

this could catch on...

there could be straight white guy pacs pushing for no income tax and a return of Easter Week school vacations and vacations for the two Jewish holy days in September.

we could push for affirmative action in the the professional team sports like the NBA and and Olympic track events.
we could push for a celebration of white history... and white history month on tv.

we could talk about the good old days where america was a melting pot instead of being balkanized and we could push for everyone to celebrate America again because our history is on the whole is one of freedom and justice and opportunity... (minus slavery and indians... I get it.)

By the way, the only people bringing up race and gender are also on the right. If this is really a celebration of heterosexuality, why restrict it to White males? Exactly what do you guys plan on doing at that sausage fest?

What you guys continually fail to understand is that unlike the right, the left doesn't think and march in lockstep. So what if some gay activists protest? Boo hoo. Is that going to destroy your sausage fest? Really?

My views on illegal aliens are quite conservative but I can't join any rightie causes because their views are quite racist while mine are nationalistic. I believe in the sanctity of national borders; all national borders, not just ours. And so it goes.

No, JamesLiar, I happen to be a straight White male. I just don't feel threatened by gay marriages. In fact, the more gay males who come out of the closet and don't try to enter into fraudulent hetero marriages for appearances sake, the more women there are available (discounting lesbians of course) for straight guys.
