Yes, very telling. Especially since

1. The Libertarian party was founded in 1971. Less than a year earlier.
2. Many conservatives who call themselves republicans (and quite a few who call themselves democrats) are actually Libertarian once they learn what the party stands for matches what they stand for.
3. I voted republican last election because it was either waste my vote (in a swing state) and help Obama win victory, or vote against him. Even though I'm Libertarian.
