Liberals Love the 'One Percent'

do we agree on something or are you just restating my position and beginning to understand why we need conservatives old school liberals and union workers to create a new party?

I thought it was odd to me that liberals (not today's lefitsts but real liberals like ralph nader and even sometimes Olivers Stone) are now sometimes making statements I agree with. I wonder have I changed or has the government or are we all moving towards the realization the dems and the establishment Rs are corrupt crooks only seeking money and re election in exchange for screwing the people and destroying our constitutional rights?

I restated your equation with the hope that Scat might reconsider his apparently unconditional love of wealth and capital, and hatred of government.

We have entered a new era where the old divisions do not apply so much. That is why the democrats constantly try to created divisions over race, ethnicity and class hatred.

The true conservatives and the old school liberals are both appalled at our foreign policy. Anyone with an ounce of intellectual honesty sees our immigration policy as suicidal. How can anyone think the War on Poverty has been any more of a success than Bush's misguided wars?

Has so-called "free trade", ie transfer our wealth and intellectual capital to China, been a success? Ask the union guys in the Rust Belt, that is if you can find any. they used to be the backbone of the democrat party. Not so much now. Government workers are more reliable and less likely to go off the reservation and vote for a Reagan just because he is the better candidate.

America has become ruled by an oligarchy... mostly centered in whatever is the current administration + Congress.

In one way or another, we all serve at their pleasure. The ne'er-do-wells receive government subsidy checks in exchange for their vote to keep the Status Quo in power.... and the worker bees... those of us who work and pay taxes for the oligarchy to spend any way they please... including buying the votes of aforementioned ne'er-do-wells so that the controlling elites remain in power.

There is NO CHANCE of changing for the good until the next American Revolution. Next time it will be "Americans against our own government" instead of "Colonists vs. King George III".)

you may be correct... but I think the establishment only gets to control us by the thinnest of margins. However, you can see they are getting to fox news

We saw what happened to Kantor... they know the democrats may get thrown out. Control of the Republican party is not that out of reach.

A few more elections like Kantors and one guy being willing to challenge for speaker and boom.

Or some of the republican presidential candidates are not bought by wall street it could happen. Change campaign finance laws or institute term limits or have the senate be voted on by the states... something else perhaps...

another beautifully insightful post once again.

This is absolutely key to understand. Those who caused the crisis and the behavior that got us to where we were in the recession of 2009 were rewarded, continue to be rewarded and have been given more influence than ever before. TBTF banks became TB'erTF. Romney was right - regulations in place are fine, but the regulators don't follow or enforce them, and when they do, they do it selectively. It's corrupt, rotten to the core and bloated.
WTF happened to our promised "Hope and Change"?

Couldn't get the votes in the House to pass it. But had Romney won, his "optimism and change" would have sailed through!

What votes in the house? Did the House have anything to do with putting Geithner and Summers - two people part of the banking cartel - into Obama's administration? That was certainly a big part of the problem.

Don't make up shit, please.

Since there were, literally, no votes on "hope and change" in the House, maybe I didn't intend the statement literally.

Pull the stick out of your ass.
