Yet millions more people would rather live in San Fran than republican run cities in the south.
Favorable climate, few bugs, and appealing geography are basic attractants to California. The creation of a solid economy based on agriculture on fertile lands, technology jobs in Silicon valley and in National labs as a result of WW II defense spending, natural harbors that facilitate trade, many natural and man-made tourist attractions, and most importantly Conservative leadership and a pro business environment are what made California into the world’s 4th leading economy and a desirable place to live.
Although Liberal Democrats were able to take California over politically through use of public money for social programs and open door immigration policies in exchange for votes, Conservative principles are what made California great.
Now that Liberals have been running things for a while, look at what’s happening to California. The Democrats are not exactly tackling the homelessness issue are they? Has the problem gotten too big and expensive, just like the apparent unmitigated abuse of hard drugs and too many immigrants? Of course it has.
California now is considered as having a business unfriendly environment with their high taxes, fees, fines, regulatory burden, and enforcement practices against business owners. This as resulted in the outflow of business talent to Texas, Washington State, Utah, and to Colorado. These states have seen economic booms created by Conservative business leaders only to see Liberals make inroads into the politics of these states. It is like Conservatives get things going nicely, the population prospers and gets happy, and then they feel more giving and become open to Liberal ideas. Oops. Splat!
What about Republican controlled “poor” states? These states are without the benefit of natural harbors, direct trade zones, tourism creating natural wonders, a favorable climate, or perhaps natural resources. Although Republicans do not have much of a natural economic base to work with in these states, the cost of commody type goods tend to be cheap and benefit other states, including Liberal ones. As energy resources become more available through fracking and piplines, increasing focus on education, and as top business talent is attracted, these states will see an economic and jobs boom. Of course, Liberals are against all cheap energy projects. This has the effect of keeping poor states, and poor countries for that matter, down.
Now Washington State and Colorado are becoming less desirable places for establishing or expanding businesses. This reduces job creating economic opportunities and increases substance abuse and homelessness.
Again, Conversative principles include creating a environment favorable towards business and demands effective policies on illegal drugs and immigration. This in turn means more jobs and tourism and less homelessness.
