no safe spaces, no trigger warnings, no dis-inviting scheduled speakers

time to man-up, kids

The UoC has many first rate thinkers and is one of the best universities in the world. But when they invite Miko Peled to speak there, I will believe their intentions are inline with what they write:

Miko Peled presentation at Trinity University, San Antonio, TX. August 20, 2014.

"Among the elite schools in the US, the University of Chicago is one of the most often associated with intellectual conservatism, a-la National Review. They are the school which launched Milton Friedman as a well known political commentator. So it is not surprising that they did this, and I hope all of our schools follow suit, and teach the polite and empathetic discussion of controversial topics by example as they should."

So David Duke is OK also right? Can anything exclude someone from speaking? How about a terrorist advocating for terror strikes?

What about the right of people to protest against other people who may hold disgusting views?

I would submit that both the right of just anyone to speak and the rights of others to deny them from speaking need limitations.
