The federal government imposed guidelines that are clearly ineffectual as evidenced by the infected doctor who traveled around NYC before developing symptoms.

Several states then added a voluntary 21 day quarantine for travelers coming from west africa in the interest of public safety and in response to the clear ineptitude of the CDC and Obama regime.

This nurse decided to not comply. Other liberals are supporting her decision to politicize a public health issue.

It seems like liberals will not support anything that preserves the safety and security of the US population whether it be terrorism, pandemic disease, food safety, unregulated immigration or nuclear proliferation.

He was not contagious before symptoms, and still not very contagious when the first symptom, fever, was exhibited. Now to be fair, I hope and trust that Hickox is taking her temperature twice a day, and reporting it, per protocol. The quarantine seems reasonable, its the same period of time that military personnel will be quarantined in Italy after their tours. Its a basic precaution so that someone infected (but perhaps not exhibiting symptoms) who may have ebola virus on the surface of luggage, clothing or personal items brought home or residing on their body (the virus can survive for upwards of 50 days on a stainless steel surface, longer on textiles) is not inadvertently exposing others.

Liberals are simply bad citizens with little or no regard for others around them, apparently. Probably not the folks you want leading the country because their decisions are, well... liberal. Placing a 21 day buffer between travelers from west africa and 300 million US citizens is, well... conservative. There is the difference.

I think your 50 days claim is false. The CDC website says two hours when dry, several days when fluid immersed and at room temperature. Besides, fluids don't contain any virus particles for days after the first symptoms manifest.

Megyn Kelly had one of the doctors who got ebola and was cured on last night talking about this nurse. He was sympathetic to her and made some reasonable points, but basically had no answer to the issue of what if she became symptomatic while she was out and about.

The CDC has been all over the place with the other nurse, Amber Vines, and finally said she shuld have stayed home. I'm sure that makes all the people on th eplane with her feel better.

Frankly, this nurse's attitude is so frightening that I wouldn't trust her to report on herself if she did become symptomatic. Does the IRS trust us to figure our taxes correctly? Do the police trust us not to drive drunk or not to speed? Do people who know they have AIDs go out and have unprotected sex without informing their partners?
