The Rams have one of the best young defensive lines in the league, everyone already knows this, and obviously their coach knows it. At 6'2, 260 Sam is too small too play defensive line in the NFL, and he will never make it any further than practice squad, he needs to put on 50 pounds or more. He also had a terrible scouting combine.
I suspect their was tampering from commissioner roger Goodell with this one as the league couldnt allow Sam to go undrafted because they didnt want to risk being tarred and feathered by the PC nazi's. The Rams happened to have back to back picks at the very end of the draft so thet picked him, 7th last when they could have just let him go, waited 7 picks, and signed him to the practice squad..
Also this was a shrewd move on Michael Sam's part as he alreaDY has over a dozen endorsement offers apparently, when most other 7th rounders dont get shit. People are calling this guy "courageous" when the only reason he was drafted, and will now make millions being a practice squad player is because he made a big deal of his gayness. IMO, its not courageous to do something you know damn well is going to be a huge benefit to you.
