Liberal Fareed Zakaria:Public Sector Unions single Biggest threat to Fiscal Health.

San Jose and Diego were not even mentioned in the MSM news when this was ongoing. Not a shock.

The biggest tell was the 54% drop in union membership. Amazing what people will do when they don't have a gun pointed at their head.
 
Obama's stimulus plan is to bail these states and cities out. That was the whole point of his poorly received speech last week when he said the private sector was doing fine and the real problem was keeping teachers, cops and firefighters, ie unionized government jobs.

Shovel some federal money to them so they don't have to face reality. Then, like all federal programs, it becomes something that can't be touched, ever. So taxpayers in the few fiscally responsible states can be forced to pay for lavish union benefits in states they never set foot in.
