I don't think everything relied on computers back then. How many systems will run now without computers? Shit, did you see the video of the woman who's EBT card didn't work a few days ago? She trashed a store over her food stamps not being accepted, and it wasn't the store's fault. You think she'll be the exception or the rule if we have a massive electrical outage that lasts weeks, months, or years? Be realistic.
I agree, many people shouldn't own certain types of weapons, but when you say people shouldn't have them, there are probably many who would say you shouldn't have a CCW. You have your reason to conceal carry, others may have reasons to have more capacity, even though you may not agree with their reasons, as they may not agree with yours.
By the way, if you're interested, read up on Peter Pry and Admiral Gortney regarding EMP. Might be an eye opener for you. Nothing crazy about it when leaders of other countries are threatening nuclear attacks...even if we don't believe them. Some believe terrorist don't really want to hurt us when they say they do, but then we read the news and shit like Ft Hood, Orlando, and many others are in the headlines.

How's about we just start with the simple stuff. Say for instance some guy who has been in for questioning about his Radical Islamist public statements and associations with known terrorists. One would think it'd be impossible for a guy like that to purchase any weapon legally, yet here we are with just that guy purchasing weapons legally and killing scores of people. If we can't do something as straight-forward as stopping a guy who is shouting I'M A TERRORIST from purchasing guns, just how the fuck do we trust this band of idiots in government to do anything right?
I wound up watching NBC reporting on the shooting for awhile... what slurred trashy reporting! That biatch classed this shooting in with all the ones by the guys on psych meds, they never mentioned that the dance place was a gun free zone, they never mentioned that the shooter was a registered democrat... sick, lousey liberal reporting... they interviewed a queer mayor or some s^7t like that and he had no answers to anything, just a lot of sloppy emotional warm stinking pile and they repeated themselves and their film clips of nothing for two hours... not to mention that they moved the F1 race to another channel with no notice... if people didn't figure out where they moved the race to they missed it! They should have run a banner at the bottom of the screen saying where they moved the race to...

How about we look at this from a mathematical standpoint and grasp the fact that there will ALWAYS be a very small percentage of humanity with extreme ideologies that will kill others in the name of whatever it is that they believe in? It's not about the accessibility to firearms or knives. These weapons and/or similar have been easily accessible for all of recorded humanity and will continue to be in perpetuity.
It's really about how easy it is for a group of likeminded believers to mire themselves down into a religious identity based upon a few select verses of scripture. It's way easier partially consuming books of religion or spirituality than it is to actually read them in their entirety, and it's certainly easier on the mind to read a few passages of historical scripture and get passionate about those verses, than it is to embark on a journey of understanding their full context, or God forbid, actually understanding how those texts compare to other religious beliefs.
My sense is that the most radical extremists are actually the ones with the LEAST amount of scriptural knowledge. These seeking souls just stumbled across some authoritative figures that planted a few ideas in their heads that made them feel part of a group, and so they ran with that group full speed ahead because they had NOTHING ELSE aside from that to put any hope whatsoever into. As Osho the great Indian philosopher said, "The less people know, the more stubbornly they know it."
