IMO, they knew from the start there was no collusion, it was all a ruse. A fabricated lie to start an investigation hoping at best to uncover something, anything to bring Trump down.
Oh indeed. That's a fact. Strzok was the lead investigator in charge or framing Trump and his framing and shenanigans formed the basis for fisa warrants and muellers appointment- but you will recall that when he was considering going with Mueller full time- which he did before he was removed- he told Lisa that he didnt think there was anything there in regard to collusion but that it would still be a bigtime investigation so he might want to do it just for that reason. But he knew that the investigation had been launched upons shaky and flaky grounds because he was the one who bundled the flaky circumstances for the fisa warrants and the other investigation they had already launched on trump that we did not find out about until just a couple weeks ago.
